In a glass tube, 2,4-dibromopyrimidine (400 mg, 1.68 mmol) was dissolved in l,4-dioxane/H20 (9:1,10 mL), and (2′-(tert-butyl)pyridin-4-yl)boronic acid (2′-200 mesh), eluted with 10% EA in hexanes. Removal of the solvent under reduced pressure gave 2-bromo-4-(2′-(tert-butyl)pyridin- 4-yl)pyrimidine as a gummy liquid (250mg, 51%).
