After 30 min the reaction mixture was quenched with water and extracted three times with EtOAc. The combined organic phases were dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and evaporated to afford 6-chloro-4-methoxy-1 H- pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine as a brown solid. Yield: 3.34 g (68%). MS (ES+): m/e = 185.0 (M+H), chloro pattern
