The resulting reaction mixture was degassed three times back filling with argon each time before being charged PdC (dppf) (182 mg, 0.223 mmol). The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, filtered through a pad of Celite, washed with EtOAc, and the filtrate was concentrated and then diluted with EtOAc (30 mL) and water (10 mL). The two layers were separated, and the aqueous layer was extracted with EtOAc (25 mL). The combined organic fractions were washed with aqueous brine (2 x 20 mL), dried over a2S04, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by Biotage SP1 Flash Chromatography (DCM/MeOH/7N NH3in MeOH 97/2/1) to afford the title compound (343 mg, 35%, 2 steps)..
