A mixture of ethyl 5-chloropyrazolo[1 ,5-a]pyrimidine-3-carboxylate (677 mg, 3.00 mmol), methanamine (3.0 ml, 2.0 M, 6.0 mmol) and N,N-diisopropylethylamine (1.6 ml, 9.0 mmol) in 2-propanol (20 ml) was refluxed for 5 h. Upon cooling, ice water was added and the mixturewas extracted with ethyl acetate (3x).
