On cooling, the mixture is partitioned between dichloromethane and aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate and the aqueous layer washed with two further portions of dichloromethane. The combined organics are washed with brine, dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated. Purification by flash chromatography affords the title compound (1.29 g). The compound obtained in this step shows the following mass spectral data: LC/MS: C18H17F3N4S requires 378.1; observed M/Z 379.0 [M+H]+. RT 7.43 min.
