To a solution of 2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine (100 mg, 0.55 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (4 mL) were added tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium (43 mg, 0.05 mmol), furan-2-ylboronic acid (61 mg, 0.55 mol) and an aqueous sodium carbonate solution (1 M, 1.64 mL, 1.64 mmol). The combined organic layers were washed with saturated brine (50 mL), dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to dry,and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (PE) to give the title compound as a yellow solid (42 mg, 3 6percent).MS (ESI, pos.ion) m/z: 215.0 [M+Hfb; ?H NMR (400 MFIz, CDC13) (ppm):7.67 (d, J= 0.7 Hz, 1H), 7.58 (s, 1H), 7.43 (d, J= 3.4 Hz, 1H), 6.65 (dd, J 3.4, 1.6 Hz, 1H).
