NaH (1.15 g, 60% in mineral oil, 28.7 mmol) was added the mixture of 4-chloropyrimidin-2-amine (1.0 g, 7.75 mmol) and solketal (3.07 g, 23.25 mmol) in dioxane (12 mL) solution at 0 C. The temperature was elevated to 120 C for 15 h. After cooling to room temp, the solids were filtered, filtrate was concentrated and residue purified by column chromatography to give 4-((2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methoxy)pyrimidin-2- amine (1.2 g, 69 %).
