The reaction mixture was warmed to ambient temperature over 1 h, after which time TLC showed complete consumption of the starting material. The reaction was quenched with IPA (5 mL), MeOH (5 mL) and H20 and then acidified to pH 3 with 2 M HCI before being extracted with EtOAc, the organic layer dried over MgS04 and the solvent removed in vacuo. The resulting product was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel (solvent EtOAc) to afford the desired product as a white solid (1.12 g, 59%). 1 H NMR deltaEta (CDCIs, 300 MHz): 9.11 (s, 1 H), 7.90 (s, 1 H), 7.53 – 7.51 (m, 1 H), 7.40 – 7.38 (m, 1 H), 7.24 – 7.20 (m, 1 H), 5.51 (s, 1 H), 4.75 (s, 2H), 4.06 (d, J = 6.0 Hz, 2H), 3.70 (s, 6H), 2.60 (br, 2 H), 2.56, (s 3H). ESI-MS 476.1 [MH]+.
