The Schiff base ligand (H2L) was prepared by refluxing an equimolar amount (1:1M ratio) of 5-aminouracil (10g, 0.01mol) with 2-benzoyl pyridine (14.41g, 0.01mol) in ethanol, after 3h a few drops of concentrated sulfuric acid were added to the reaction mixture.
