This mixture was stirred for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was poured into water and then extracted three times with tert- butyl methyl ether. The organic layer was washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and then concentrated to obtain a crude product. This crude product was used in the next step without purification.
