Cyclopropylamine (0.12 g) was added to a solution of 4,6-dichloro-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine synthesised according to the method of (0.40 g) in ethanol (4.0 ml) at room temperature. The mixture was stirred at the same temperature overnight. The precipitated solid was separated by filtration and dried to obtain 6-chloro-N-cyclopropyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-4-amine (yellow solid) (0.43 g, 97%).
