2-chloro-5-fluoro-3H-pyrimidin-4-one was stirred in DME/DMF under nitrogen at 0 C. Sodium hydride was added in portions. Purification by silica gel chromatography gave the title compound. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3): delta 7.81 (s, 1H), 7.74 (dd, 1H, J=7.6, 1.2 Hz), 7.59 (td, 1H, J=7.6, 1.2 Hz), 7.45 (t, 1H, J=7.6 Hz), 7.15 (d, 1H, J=7.6 Hz), 5.67 (s, 2H). MS (ES) [m+H] calc’d for C12H7N3OFCl, 264, 266; found 264, 266.
